A Lot of Fluid
There was a lot of activity yesterday at the City of Hope. Beth has been dealing with a lot of discomfort due to the swelling in her abdomen. In the morning the doctors scheduled a CT scan to get a better idea of what was going on inside of her. While she waited they removed her IV and put in a PIC line to give her nourishment. They took her for the scan and realized just how much fluid she was dealing with. On the scale it amounts to about an extra 50 pounds. They were a little surprised by the amount, and one of the doctors said she'd thought Beth just had a pear-shaped body. Beth was wheeled back to her room where they performed a procedure to aspirate some of the fluid from her abdomen. They drained about a liter and a half and took it to be analyzed. Those results should be in today. Afterward Beth was resting more comfortably.

Michael,
For all you and your family are going through, for you to keep updates on Beths condition is simply amazing AND much appreciated. I certainly would not want to be left wondering how she is doing. I think of all of you family and my heart goes out to each and every one. I just want everything to GO AWAY, as I know all of you do, also.
If only it could be that simple-surgery, rest, home, recuperate. But, I think, we all know, in this damn real world, some things don't always go that way. But, as things go, faith, love, strength and friendship in the Lord is what will see this through.
Please tell Beth we are "fighting" just as hard as she is with heartfelt prayers and thoughts for her. I am asking angels every day to stand by her, soothe and comfort her and heal her. It will work. We just don't have the patience needed sometimes. You all take care. Love and hugs to all.
Hi Guys,
Thank you for updating this so often. I am continuing to pray for you guys. You all are truly amazing. Give Beth my love. I know this will all work out. Take care.
Love, Michelle
Beth,
I can't imagine how discouraging all the ups and downs are for you, but I know your hanging in there & fighting with all the strength & grace we know & love. You & your entire family are constantly in my thoughts & prayers. I know that God is faithful & will continue to listen to all of us who are lifting you up to Him. "Keep on asking and you will be given what you ask for." (Matthew 7:7-11)
Love, Susan
Hi Beth,
I don't know what to say and sometimes words aren't necessary, but if I don't write you won't know that our love and prayers are with you always. I'm praying that
you will be feeling better very soon.

2 Corinthians 4: 13-17 (from The Message Remix version)...
"We're not keeping this quiet, not on your life. Just like the psalmist who wrote, "I believed it, so I said it," we say what we believe. And what we believe is that the One who raised up the Master Jesus will just as certainly raise us up with you, alive. Every detail works to your advantage and to God's glory more and more grace, more and more people, more and more praise! So we're not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard time are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us."
It's all in His plan.....I pray for continued healing!!
