Room #4 and a Visit From the Kids

By the time this is all said and done Beth will be able to write a guide book for future City of Hope patients. It seems they are intent on showing her every room in the hospital. After the last move she found herself in a one bed shack, but thanks to the nurse in charge she was moved (yet again) to something a little more spacious. The new room is big enough to accommodate both visitors and hospital staff, which makes it easier on everyone. And with the removal of some tubes, one from her nose and the other from her neck, Beth was feeling up to a visit from the kids this morning. Being the curious souls that they are, the kids had many questions about the remaining tubes and medical devices, and they wanted to touch everything. They also wanted to crawl into bed with mommy like at the hospital in Long Beach, but couldn't because of her incision. Apart from that, it didn't take long for them to get comfortable. It was a nice visit and everyone was happy.

After the kids left Beth took a little nap to rest up for her afternoon activity. One of the nurses informed her that she needed to do some "significant walking" to get her fluids moving. She still hasn't had any food or anything to drink, and won't until the doctors are satisfied that her stomach has healed. Two different nurses have given their opinion on when Beth may be discharged. The first thought it would be the middle of this coming week, while the second thought it would be Tuesday. Of course only the doctors know for sure, but the time is drawing near. At the very least they have the opportunity to move her three or four more times. Anyone want to make a bet?

Hi Beth and family,
This is by far the BEST blog yet! We are all walking around with great big smiles on our faces and feeling over the top with thanksgiving and graditude.
Glad the kids got to see Mom and know that she is doing good and getting better, that's so important.
Well honey, you'll soon be home and surrounded with love and warmth from your amazing family. We promise to continue the positive thoughts and prayers, you are the WOMAN! Thanks for doing such a great job. Love from Arizona

Hi Sister! I love that they keep moving you...that's farther and farther away from illness and closer and closer to perfect health! Keep moving right out the door never to return to that place again. Although, I do have to say, after visiting the City of Hope in person, it is an amazing place. Not someplace I would ever like to visit again but for someone who needs that kind of care, the grounds are soothing, the staff seems like caring experts, and the general feel is very positive and hopeful. Maybe that's one of the reasons you are healing so fast (along with your amazing strength and desire to heal...oh and the few thousand prayers being said every day with you in mind). You keep doing what you are doing, we'll keep doing what we're doing and soon we will all be doing a marathon or some other crazy thing. I love you!

Hi Beth et al,
YEA!!! we all want to visit so could you request the next room change be to the auditorium!! Just kidding of course, we want you to continue your focus on that upward trajectory to radiant health and vitality. Walking? Did the nurse say walking? Tell her to get that ole treadmill in the room with you and you'll show her walking. HA!
The two books I'm sending to you are "the Field" and "The Intention Experiment"by Lynn McTaggert. All about HOW matter is affected by thoughts, prayer, and intention. She takes difficult concepts in quantum theory and explains with such beauty and simplicity that all can understand in different terms what we already know "Prayer Works". I'm keeping the prayers coming for you, Steve, K,R,J and your family there with you, holding your surrounding space in love. I'm sure that being with the kids was so healing for all of you.
And thanks to Michael for being a great blogger. Michael, the Archangel, in biblical lore ranks as the greatest of all angels, in all religions. His name means "who is as God". He is Prince of The Presence, and warrior of God and Prince of Light against the darkness. And most interesting of all is that Pope Pius X11 declared him to be (in 1950)the patron of policemen. You are in good hands, sweet Beth.
